I'll start with perlemoen in batter, quick fried with fresh lemon and go on to springbok 'rugstrng' with fresh preserved quince and crisp, roasted potatoes, French green beans with crispy, fried bacon and pumpkin fritters - for dessert my own grenadilla cheesecake.

If I where to have my last meal...I would like to have a meal that reminds me of the way we ate on Sunday's when I grew up. My Mom knew what my favourites were, so when I got back from varsity she usually treated me with this... Chicken pie with lots of veggies sneaked in, acompanied by caramalised sweet potato's and heaps of pumpkin, both dripping with butter and sugar. Some thinly sliced, stirfried french beans would usually finish this perfect combination. For dessert... I would definately want to have her famous Chocolate pudding, now a favourite in my house as well. Dark and dense, made with extra sauce and a good dollop of cream on top. Perfect, memorable, and still what I crave for whenever I long to sit at her kitchen table at the end of a tiring week.

Thanks for that info - some people may well be interested. I'm vehemently opposed to the death sentence so I'll have to build up the courage first.

So this is all about soul food cause that's where I'm headed....
Starting with a bowl of clear homemade chicken soup- strained of course, filled to the brim with with soft yet firm kneidelach made from Matzo meal with kitke bread to dip into the soup once I've devoured the kneidelach
Followed by seared fresh Norwegian Salmon with a wasabi mayonaisse a la Forks tapas- when I eat this I have to close my eyes cause the sensations on my tongue are so numerous, it's a little mouth orgasm
And then onto Mom's home made brisket with an amazing meaty gravy and pink horseradish sauce, and a huge pile of the most perfect roast potatoed which are golden brown and crisp on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside and loads of gravy to mop them up with.
At this stage I'm groaning, but who cares cause I won't have to worry about how my body feels within a short time... so on to the finale
which is the perfect espresso and a plate layered with puff pastry, creme patisserie, finely sliced juicy sweet strawberries dusted with icing sugar
and all of this is only remotely as delicious if I have my beautiful daughters sitting with me sharing in our final hour together, laughing, crying and listening to beautiful music
    Heaven before Heaven
